In this kid-friendly Try-It class, each child learns the basics of wheel throwing with plenty of guidance, laughter, and messy fun. Everyone gets to create their own pottery piece, choose their favorite to keep, and The Vessel will glaze and fire the finished creations after the party.

Private Animal Pinch Pots
Make your child’s birthday unforgettable with a creative clay adventure!
In this hands-on handbuilding class, kids will learn how to shape their own animal-themed pinch pots—think silly creatures, cute critters, and anything their imagination dreams up. They’ll finish by painting their creations with colorful underglazes.
Handbuilding-
60 Minutes — Starting at $360 for up to 8 guests.
$45 for each additional guest with a max of 10.

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Cancellations made more than two weeks before the event will not owe the remaining balance. Cancellations made within one week of the event are responsible for paying the full remaining balance.

+ Children ages 7 & under require an adult to stay with them and assist - plan to get messy with your child.
+ Adults with children above the age of 7 are welcome to participate, but are required to be included in total headcount.
+ Long fingernails and clay do not get along - we recommend trimming your nails before your class.
+ Please leave valuable rings, bracelets, and long necklaces at home or have a safe place to keep them during class.
+ Clean up at the end of class is required.
+ Expect to get messy - bring an apron or towel to cover your lap.
+ Wear clothes and shoes that are easy to clean or you don't mind getting dirty!

During the class, you’ll explore the fundamentals of the pottery wheel and create your own piece from start to finish.
Each participant gets to keep one piece, which The Vessel will glaze and fire for you.

Private Make-A-Mug
Discover the art of handbuilding as you create a one-of-a-kind mug from a slab of clay.
During the class, you’ll shape your mug and personalize it with texture, handles, or sculptural details—no wheel or painting involved.
Each participant gets to keep one finished mug, which The Vessel will glaze and fire for you.
Perfect for team-building events, celebrations, or a creative night with friends, our private Make-A-Mug class offers a tactile experience that’s fun, approachable, and uniquely yours.
Handbuilding-
90 Minutes — Starting at $390 for up to 6 guests.
$65 for each additional guest up to 10.
$25 for each additional guest beyond 10 with a max of 20.
A classroom has 10 wheels. Parties of 10 or less will have their own wheel for the entirety of the class. Parties of more than 10 will take turns on the wheels.
Groups greater than 20 guests please contact us to request booking both classrooms.
